From The Executive Director at CDF NY

Children’s Defense Fund-New York has a unique approach to improving conditions for children, combining research, public education, policy development, community organizing and advocacy.  CDF-NY advocates for policies to eliminate poverty – the consequences which often manifest in the areas of health, youth justice, education, immigration, child welfare and income security and disproportionately impact low income children of color.  The experience of poverty is traumatic for children and has a negative effect on healthy development during critical growth years.  A recognized authority in the endeavor to protect children and strengthen families, CDF-NY serves as a resource and partner for children, families and organizations throughout New York City and State.
